Regional interests applications

A regional interests development approval (RIDA) may be required when a resource or regulated activity is proposed to be in an area of regional interest.

An assessment application must be made to the Chief Executive of the department.

You can submit an assessment application online. You will need to register at the time of making the application.

Alternatively, a completed approved form (and the required documents under section 29 of the Regional Planning Interests Act 2014) can be submitted to the department by either:

Applications submitted by email or post will only be considered after the correct prescribed fees have been paid.
